Nobby's Fisho
Nobby’s Fisho is a modern take on the classic fish and chip shop, located at the foot of what was, Magic Mountain in Nobby Beach. Drawing inspiration from nostalgic moments by the beach with family and friends, the venue’s vision was to create a new, premium offering for locals and visitors alike.
Sure, you can still buy a hand-made potato cake, or some battered whiting – but, at Nobby’s Fisho, you can enjoy both with a bottle of Moet or craft beer on the side.
The venue needed to speak in a broad visual language to appeal to its wide market sector and, to keep the brand looking fresh. Therefore, a comprehensive suite of functional brand assets were designed to provide flexibility in marketing and collateral design. Sometimes industrial, sometimes whimsical – the brand’s visual identity is designed to be fun, fresh and a little cheeky.
With a crisp, white design, the interior of the space is complemented by an understated signage system displaying the vast menu offering. This is somewhat of a departure from the heavy and cluttered layouts of menu boards from traditional fish and chip shops.
In stark contrast to the white tiles and transparent signage system, sits a feature mural executed in an expressive, urban style. This creates a dynamic and engaging tension between the architecture, brand and place design. Painted in a combination of acrylic and spray paint, the image of the Red Emperor has become an icon for Nobby’s Fisho – it’s an image that patrons relate to, creating recall and a unique identity with a unique Nobby’s personality.
